TWO PHYSICIANS AT NEW JERSEY NEUROSCIENCE INSTITUTE RECEIVE BOARD CERTIFICATION
John DeCerce, M.D. of Perth Amboy, and Marina B. Sobol, M.D., PhD. of Edison, both physicians at the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute at JFK Medical Center in Edison, recently received their board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in their area of specialty: neurology.
DeCerce received his medical degree from UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick. He went on to complete his internship in neurology at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune and his residency in neurology at UMDNJ -Program in Neurology, Newark. DeCerce completed his first fellowship in epilepsy and neurophysiology at the University of Miami International Center for Epilepsy, Miami, Fla. His second fellowship was completed in sleep disorders medicine and polysomnography at UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick.
Professional memberships for DeCerce include the American Epilepsy Society; the American Academy of Neurology; the American Sleep Disorders Association and the New Jersey Sleep Society.
Sobol received her medical degree from Kazan State Medical Institute in Russia. She completed the pediatric neurology residency program and also presented her doctorate research at the Kazan State Institute for the Advanced Training of Physicians, also in Russia.
After immigrating to the United States, Sobol attended the transitional program at St. Michaels Medical Center/Seton Hall University, Newark. She completed the neurology program at Seton Hall University, School of Graduate Medical Education/JFK Medical Center, New Jersey Neuroscience Institute, Edison.
