Laboratory of Neurogenetics
The Laboratory of Neurogenetics is physically located in the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute in Edison, New Jersey. It is fully equipped to perform the standard techniques of a molecular genetics laboratory including extraction and measurement of DNA, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), gel electrophoresis and DNA sequencing.

Current post-doctoral fellow, Dr. Leema Reddy Peddareddygari, who is investigating the effects of selected genes on ischemic stroke.

Analysis of PCR products from amplification of approximately 400 bp segments of DNA obtained from samples of 14 different individuals. The products, which are indicated by the arrow, have been resolved by performing gel electrophoresis. These results show variations in the sequence of a gene encoding nitric oxide synthase.
