Gamma Knife
Patient Referral and Criteria

Patient referrals are welcomed and, although some conditions may not be suitable for the Gamma Knife technology, prospective candidates are encouraged to call the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute at JFK Medical Center for an accurate and thorough screening conducted by a licensed neuro-oncologist. 
 
Some of the most common indications for Gamma Knife treatment are:
Arteriovenous/vascular malformations
Meningiomas
Acoustic neuromas
Pituitary and pineal tumors
Metastatic tumors
Glial and astrocytic tumors
All other malignant and benign tumors
Trigeminal neuralgia
Parkinson's tremors/rigidity
Essential tremor
