Our medical team at the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute
provide comprehensive surgical treatment of spinal disorders and sciatica.
Our neurosurgeons take the time to discuss each patient's diagnosis
and treatment plan. Microsurgical and endoscopic techniques are routinely used to
reduce tissue destruction and shorten length of recovery. Our physicians
are experts in numerous spine disorders, including herniated discs,
spinal stenosis, spinal degeneration and arthritis of the spine.
We are a tertiary center for spine tumors having successfully treated
patients from around the world otherwise thought to be inoperable.
Our team includes spine neurosurgeons and neuro-radiologists,
who specialize in using neurointerventional capabilities for diagnosis
and treatment options.
For patients with complex spinal injuries, spinal instability or back
pain, we utilize sophisticated techniques for spinal fusions, including
bone grafts, internal metallic fixations (such as screws, rods, plates
and cages) and direct current bone stimulation.
Surgical techniques are guided by intra-operative electrophysiologic
monitoring when indicated. Our team is complemented by skilled
and highly compassionate nurse clinicians and physician assistants.
Patients suffering from chronic spasticity are eligible for enrollment
in our Baclofen Pump Program. For patients requiring rehabilitation,
we have a close relationship with the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute,
which offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including
services for patients needing prosthetics and orthotics.
