The Didactic Curriculum
The
curriculum is updated annually based on faculty and resident feedback. Residents
participate in daily morning report, neuroradiology rounds, attending rounds and lectures.
There are also conferences within the divisions of neurology and neurosurgery and in other
services at the medical center. There is a dedicated neuroscience library located within
the Institute with 24-hour Internet and Medline access, as well as access to the library
within the medical center.
The New Jersey Neuroscience Institute at JFK Medical Center holds its
own grand rounds each week; residents can also attend monthly hospital-wide
grand rounds lectures. There is a monthly evening conference. Topics
rotate between cases in epilepsy, stroke, brain tumors, and ethics.
Journal Club is held bi-weekly. Stipends are available for neurology
residents to attend off-site national neurology conferences.
